Founded in 1948, Bombril S/A, which started manufacturing steel wool, is proud to have reached its position as the largest company of cleaning solutions in Brazil. Currently, it develops products in several categories such as steel wools and fibers, synthetic sponges, detergents, soap in bars, soap products, disinfectants, cleaners, softeners, liquid wash, ironing facilitators, perfumed sachets and air fresheners. Its 18 brands are responsible for a portfolio of 196 items found on the shelves of supermarkets.
With tree industrial complexes – Anchieta, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), Abreu e Lima (PE) and Sete Lagoas (MG) –, where about 250 thousand tons of products are made annually, Bombril relies today on 2,428 employees. Once the industrial activity is finished, the brands of Bombril go towards numberless points of sale all over the country, which allows the company to be present in over 90% of Brazilian households.
The credibility attested by its consumers makes Bombril the absolute leader in several segments. This happens because it is a company that evolves on a solid basis. Its growth is focused on the future of its joint work with partners and collaborators. This nature of collaboration extends to everything it makes, from the products conceived to the relationships built.
Bombril is welcoming, almost intimate. It talks openly to the public, using direct, spontaneous and sincere communication. A proof of that is the campaign that has been broadcast for over 30 years by the advertising guy for Bom Bril’s steel wool, one of the most remarkable and beloved characters in the history of Brazilian advertising. No wonder it was considered the Brand of the Century. This acknowledgement came in 1999 from a team of advertising and marketing stars, which elected the 21 brands most esteemed by consumers from the whole country. Out of these, only four – which include Bom Bril – were created and developed in Brazil.
